Below is a list of some of the charities and good causes that we have either helped in recent times or are supporting during this year's event. Obviously, as anyone who has been involved with a charity or worthwhile cause, it is never enough and as an organisation the Round Table, Lancaster in particular, are always trying to think of ways we can do more.
Please take the time to read the short bits of information we have given below and follow the available links to find out if there is anything more you can do. It is not always about donating money, important as it is obviously, but there other ways that you can also make a big difference.
RNLI - This is the Round Table's charity of choice this year.
The RNLI has saved more than 139,000 lives since its
foundation in 1824. Through the years, there have been countless stories of
courage against a background of technological developments and social
change.
The charity was founded, with royal patronage, as the National Institution for the Preservation of Life from Shipwreck after an appeal made by Sir William Hillary. Hillary lived in Douglas on the Isle of Man, and had witnessed the wrecking of dozens of ships from his home. Read more>>>
The Cornerstone - Lancaster
One of the participants in The Cornerstone project is 'One Voice'. We have been working along side them over the last few months with the objective of raisng awareness about the good work they do, especially through their internet cafe. Read more>>>
Help For Heroes
Help for Heroes (H4H) was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry after a profoundly moving visit to Selly Oak Hospital in the summer of 2007. Bryn and Emma met some extraordinarily brave young people who had been badly wounded and they just wanted to do something to help. Read more>>>
